MP Calkins to Seek Re-Election Wednesday, 08 November 2017 MP Calkins to Seek Re-Election in 2019

Today, Federal Conservative Member of Parliament, Blaine Calkins, announced his intention to run in the 2019 Federal Election, representing the riding of Red Deer – Lacombe.

“I have served as the Member of Parliament for Central Alberta since 2006,” said Calkins. “It has been an incredible honour and privilege to represent first the constituents of the riding of Wetaskiwin and now the constituents of Red Deer – Lacombe.  I look forward to the opportunity to continue to serve.”

Calkins currently serves as the chair of the Alberta Caucus, a position first bestowed upon him by former Prime Minister Stephen Harper in 2011 and is the chair of the Conservative Hunting and Angling Caucus.

Said Calkins, “In the two years since the last election, the Liberals have increased taxes, attacked small businesses, and waged a war on farm families across our country.  Justin Trudeau has spent more money outside of our borders than inside and left Canadians with a bill that will take generations to repay.”

“The next election is in October 2019, and in the meantime I will continue to stand up for hardworking Canadians and their families.”
